I’m going to the airport… I don’t know how to travel light. I have to be prepared for anything, so I pack everything. But, I can’t really enjoy the journey if I’m traveling with heavy baggage, right?
I picked up a few extra bags along the way through the years… as Max Lucado says, “The airport is my mind… these extra bags of luggage are my burdens; suitcase of guilt; sac of discontent; a bag of grief on one shoulder; a bag of loneliness on the other; and another bag of fear”. No wonder I’m so tired at the end of the day.
I forget that I don’t carry the luggage or burden alone. Do you have heavy luggage? Well, we all do.. Traveling light means trusting God with burdens you were never intended to carry. You can’t fulfill your purpose if you’re tired and run down from carrying all that luggage. Travel light… set it down, girl. Your father upstairs will lead and guide you. Let him take your bags. Lay them down for him. Leave him your doubts, worries, insecurities, loneliness, and fear. Let’s start traveling light!
Life is so much easier if we’re not carrying so much. You might say, Sophia- how do I let it go, I have so much life to carry? No girl, you don’t have to carry it all.
Here’s what you do:
- Write down everything- write down what’s bothering you, your burdens, fears, and worries. Fold up that piece of paper and put it in a box. After you put it in the box, you can’t worry about that luggage anymore. You put it in the box and let it go.
- Trust that God is in control and he will lift your luggage of worries off your shoulders. You don’t have to carry that anymore. Maybe you don’t believe in God… it’s okay, believe in your higher power, your spiritual guide, and practice the same thing -write down your burdens, put that paper in a box, or comment below with your luggage you need to let go of that heaviness.. Write it down and let it go.
Worrying about things that are out of your control makes you tired, and weak.
Let it go!
Always remember, you are not alone, you are special, and you are loved. Stay beautiful inside and out and don’t forget to Travel light!
